CD and DVD replication is a process that works by creating discs
from scratch. Not to be confused with duplication (the act of
burning information onto readymade, commercially-available blank
CD-Rs and DVD-Rs), replication relies on the use of molds to
produce actual discs that already contain digital data. It is
the preferred and recommended mode of mass production for
quantities in excess of 500 units.
Replication begins with a painstaking process called glass

Introduced in 1982, the compact disc was intended to provide
better sound than the 40-year-old long-play record album,
popularly known as the LP. Using a laser rather than a diamond
needle for playback the compact disc was smaller, more
convenient to use, and less susceptible to damage than the LP. A
bonus was that the format was said to offer 'perfect sound
forever.' 'Forever' isn't that long these days; improvements in
digital sound have come along in the last twenty years and the

WHY THIS DVD WON'T PLAY IN MY MACHINE ?
They're supposed to play EVERYTHING! The salesman and the
catalogue promised you that THIS machine can handle DVD's, CD's,
MP3's, JPG's VCD, CD-R's, etc etc etc.
But that DVD movie you bought on the internet from overseas
absolutely refuses to play. With or without an accompanying
error message on the TV screen , you wonder whether you have
just wasted good money.
But who to blame ? Maybe the disc itself was faulty ? Perhaps
the salesman lied about what ...

It won't last too long until the third generation of DVD format
to be unveiled. Your DVD player will play a well-performing disc
with high-storage capacity. The upcoming Media-Tech Expo, Las
Vegas, USA, will surely clarify this topical issue.
The upcoming Media-Tech Expo May 10'12, 2005 in Las Vegas, USA

It's gonna happen whether you like it or not. Your beloved
collection of treasured VHS tapes will soon be sitting next to
your 8 Track tapes and vinyl record albums. It is a format that
is slowly, but surely, coming to its demise. The replacement?
DVDs, of course. By basic definition, the DVD is an acronym for
digital versatile disc, and by rapidly growing in popularity,
this optical disc is making DVD duplication a growing market as
well.
Thanks to smaller, more powerful and more affordable ...

DVD Player - This is a generic term, since there are DVD-Audio,
DVD-ROM, DVD-Video players--while DVD-Recordable and DVD-RAM
drives are not yet ready for the market. DVD-Video has complex
hardware and firmware requirements on the player, and the DVD
Player Reference Model specifies the capabilities for a
DVD-compliant player for consumer market--outlining the standard
and optional sets of features. DVD-Video displays to a TV
monitor, but DVD-ROM players will have the hardware (boards) to

On the surface playing Frisbee with your dog may seem like just
a bit of fun, but this activity actually holds other benefits as
well.
1. Certain breeds are accustomed to an active lifestyle, so,
when they are forced to remain idle, they tend to create
interesting diversions to entertain themselves. Unfortunately,
their idea of fun may be something that you consider to be
destructive behavior. Playing Frisbee with your dog may help to
curb some of your dog's destructive behavior by giving your ...

The Blu-ray Disc belongs to a new generation of optical discs
capable of staging high density data. Blu-Ray technology is
based on a blue-violet coloured laser. The blue laser operates
at a wave length of 405 nm, while older technology such as DVDs
and CDs are based on red and infrared lasers that works at 650
and 780 nm. Since the wave length is shorter with a blue laser,
the new Blu-ray technology makes is possible to store much more
information
The advantage with the Blu-ray technology is ...

Blu-ray is an optical disc format which is set to rival HD-
DVD in the race to be the de-facto standard storage medium
for HDTV. The HD-DVD vs Blu-ray battle resembles that between
Betamax and VHS and DVD+RW and DVD-RW.
Currently, the major Hollywood film studios are split evenly in
their support for Blu-ray and HD-DVD, but most of the
electronics industry is currently in the Blu-ray camp. The key
difference between Blu-ray disc players and recorders and
current optical disc technology is that ...

DVD Authoring is the process of collecting various content
assets such as video, audio, photographs, subtitles, and menus,
connecting them together and burning them to a master dvd disc.
The assets themselves are generated in a variety of applications
such as video editing, post-production, image editing and
subtitling. They are then compiled in a DVD authoring
application such as Ulead DVD Movie Factory on the PC or DVD
Studio Pro on the Mac. The process of authoring is very much
like ...
